Blame Of The World

Look at the entrance of hell we created
Hide in shame of all the things that we have done
Look at all the creation that we so easily destroyed
The irreversible sadness we have so carelessly begun
Look at the harmony lost through generations
And the hate breeding in the eyes of your son
Look at this malignant disease we call sorrow
All our selfish actions that can no longer be undone

Count the lives that have been lost in our battles
Count the scars created with every raging war
Feel the agony of those who were left dying
Whilst the cause is even greater than it was before
Count the tears that are needed to make our rivers
And the bullets that fly from either side of the law
The problem is not created in the world we live in
The problem lives deeply buried within our core

Read the papers and weep deeply about our reality
Discover the truth that you have denied for so long
Read the signs of horror that always surround you
And try to carry on as you must remain strong
Read the fear that is screaming from people’s faces
Discover the confusion as they try so hard to belong
And as sadness like a mist slowly overcomes you
Think deeply about where we first went wrong

Blame not God who breathed life into our passions
Blame not the written theories that you keep on the shelf
Don’t accuse the stars for their random style alignment
Or a fantasy Santa and his favourite little elf
Blame not our forefathers for their pointless visions
Or the ambitions and dreams in which we all delve
Find the answer written on the face of your mirror
And point the finger of blame upon yourself

Taste the bitterness of our contaminated harvests
Choked by the vines of evil that replaced all the wheat
The plagues that mutate into killers beyond comprehension
And we are without idea of how our mistakes can be beat
Taste the fire we swallow in buckets of poison
Fall into the same trap with the wrong we always repeat
Deal with the humiliation of a failure for learning
Hide in shame as you taste the bitterness of defeat

Cry for the compassion that is resting without peace
Shed tears of sorrow for the condemned that we are
Cry for the children that are born into this wilderness
Conceived in the dark shadow cast by our black star
Cry for a humanity that is in desperate need of healing
Playing to win yet always finishing a mile behind par
Show sorrow as you remember all that once could have been
Weep endlessly because we have gone way too far

See the gold of fools in which our souls are drowning
Find the sadness building a home inside your heart
Thousands of angel’s voices that are helplessly calling
Begging for us to wake up and somehow act smart
See the road of gold to hell we are religiously paving
If only we could be sorry and make a brand new start
See the bridge for destruction we are mindlessly building
Find the cemetery of blood where sanity has been torn apart

Feel the pressures of the world that is squeezing
Taking the last breath of our suffocating air
Feel the fires of hate that our lies seem to be feeding
A hostility that finds nothing it could want to spare
Sense the ending that is inevitably coming
Maybe we could change if only we were to dare
As we continue on living with this fatal blindness
Feel the blame of the world as it is dying in despair
