Later today I climb a very large cliff out on Lake of the Woods to go and visit the cormorants. I hate heights and was very dizzy at times – But the hundreds of nests the cormorants built along the side of the huge cliff was an amazing sight. I was not sure how they were going to except my welcome – they kinda didn’t like me bothering them – but actually they were okay. The island is covered with many claws of crayfish, and I also seen many dead young cormorants even one that had died with the number tag on him (who stuck the tag on him beats me). There are so many little tiny bones scattered everywhere. So all in all the day with the cormorants was really cool – I wish they would pick a small island that is lower to the lake – it would of been a much easier day to take pictures and watch. I hope to return again before winter comes in.
