Artist's Description

This tidal pool makes a great fishing spot for the local pelican population at Seal Rocks … taken during recent travels on my way north (I’d intended to overnight at Old Bar, but … !). What a rewarding diversion this turned out to be. The tiny settlement is one of the few remaining Northern coastal villages to have avoided major development. So isolated, pristine (brush turkeys roam the holiday park in droves!) and laid-back…not to mention beautiful. The access road is not even completely tarred yet. This sight greeted me this morning just metres from my cabin as I ventured out to see how the sunrise would be …

More images and anecdotes are added nightly to my blog and Facebook …

A wonderful bird is the pelican.
His bill will hold more than his belican.
He can take in his beak,
Enough food for a week,
But I fail to see how the helican. Dixon Lanier Merritt
