Artist's Description

Requested by Javelin395, this scene depicts one of Arriva Trains Wales’ Class 175 ‘Coradia’ units, seen working a semi-fast train past the familiar walls of Conwy Castle on the North Wales Coast line.

The line was routed along the Castle’s southern flank so as to avoid a lengthy avoiding of the estuary through the hills, saving both time and money. Today it proves to be one of the more prominent railway locations, although I fear that King Edward I wouldn’t appreciate the sound of trains rumbling past his keep every couple of hours!
