Artist's Description

The Gates of The old Coal Quay now act as sentinel of the Park in the Centre of Cork City which was named after a Bishop who ruled cork with a rod of iron in the 70’s. If you look carefully you can sea the sheaves of wheat in the center of the two arches designating that this was where the wheat merchants were on the quay. This is according to one of my old teachers and may be a barefaced lie, you can never tell when you are an impressionable young student, they told us many things about stuff which were proved untrue in recent years.
But we live and learn and it’s not the gates fault..

This is shot on a holga with cross processed ektachrome and converted to black and white in post as we ponces put it.

I uploaded thr colour one by accident don’t delete just yet sorry about that
