Canon, SX40 HS
I never realized just how many beautiful wildflowers there are in my area of northern Kentucky until I began taking regular walks in natural areas with my Canon SX40 HS. By natural, I mean almost any place that isn’t a “lawn”.
I spotted this wild bergamont at a small lake I take walks around on a regular basis. Though this wildflower is 4 feet tall and quite showy, I can’t say that I have ever noticed one before. I didn’t even know what it was until I looked it up today.
It is amazing how much more I see, both large and small, now that I have taken a serious interest in outdoor photography. Its also really cool how much this 62 year old has learned about the flora and fauna in my area. When I photograph something, I HAVE to search the internet until I learn what its is and more about it.
This flower was just a pink wildflower unti I discovered this wed artical and others. http://plants.usda.gov/plantguide/pdf/cs_mofi.pdf
