Artist's Description

Gema from Cordoba was working down the road in Cahir the next town to Cashel for the summer and we visited Cashel as being far more interesting than Cahir, mostly because it is. This monument, this monolith this enormous rock is known as just that The Rock of Cashel and its part of the reason why Cashel is more interesting than Cahir at least visually.
Here it was that Ireland had its first capital and where Brian Boru was said to have ruled from, albeit briefly. The Ruins atop the rock are that of a Monastery rather than a castle and as you approach Cashel they dominate the skyline. Type it into your search engines above and you will come across the rest of the Rock elsewhere; I am just showing you the bit that Gema was on.
