Artist's Description

Susan cannot remember this building being used as anything but a restaurant, but I cannot believe such a large, brick, industrial structure was constructed to hold a restaurant. from http://files.usgwarchives.net/tx/mclennan/history/markers.txt I found this information: ‘the Mann House was built in 1873-74. All of the brick for the house and walls was made in the Mann brick kiln, east of the house. A flour and gristmill was also operated on the property.’ As this building is located east of that edifice, I infer it may have once housed either a brick kiln or, more likely, a flour and grist mill.
