All the many years I spent
Improving and educating myself
Where did they all go?
All the many thoughts and plans
All the great ideas
What ever happened to them?
The little things
The seemingly unimportant ones
Remain and are still with me
- smiles from friends
- a sunset on a beach
- a child’s song
- a kind act
These I remember
These have taught
Are these not the important things?
Perhaps they are -
Yes…they are
A degree from Oxford or Harvard.
The ability to understand difficult sciences.
The know how to write a computer operating
system. These are not going to be the things
you will think about when your know your life
is about to slip away. Enjoy the real
important things now and unto the end.
