One Spring Day

The sun comes and breaks the slumber of the trees
A warm April wind blows through my window
A baby is born and its cry can be heard in the meadow
A bell tolls saying a new day is here

Ah, the sun is warm and gentle on my back
It causes new life among the old who still rejoice for it
The happiness and joy it spreads makes a day perfect
Who can dispute Him when even He saw it was good

This new wind softly caresses everything it touches
On its breath are traces of sweet things like new flowers
Tenderly it awakens the life in people with its seasonal powers
A new awareness of surrounding is felt because of it

Nothing is so beautiful than a new born life and its cry
The knowing of love and happiness while watching him grow
The feel of newness like that of a leaf at its first show
A baby is so small but so perfect, just like the bell’s toll

Artist's Description

I remember the day distinctly and how it made me feel – a little mushy perhaps but definitely peaceful in the midst of studying for final exams. Don’t remember a thing on the course I took, but the day has stayed with me for years.
