Sometimes

Sometimes it’s a nightmare& sometimes it’s a dream

and if I’m very lucky

stretches of in-between.

They say that there is no such life as normal

well I see it in others ways

though not identical

the band of commonplace

is often out there on display

a place where it does not deplete your energy

to move out through the door

you don’t worry constantly

should I have said less or was it more

where you do not evaluate your right to be

time & time again

where no agitation & anxiety hold you prisoner

in depression’s blackened den,

where emotion is a mean task master

lashing at you ,breaking skin

that has little or no resistance

as your illnesses has worn it thin.

The court of disillusion hauls you up into its dock,

you thought for a while you where marvelous

the jury, it seems, did not.

and all you had created

your art, your heart, you soul

feels doomed & berated

your mind becomes a cold tomb.

So treasure your place of normal

I am happy when I visit

and envy those of you

who live there without any ticking time limit.

Well I least I feel that way until I’m flying high,

then you can keep your norms & boundaries

I have no time for confines, respectability

or any social pleasantries

with those of you who critcise

and prejudicially ostracise, those like me,

my kind.
