This piece was inspired by the colorful paintings of Janis Zroback. I took the original photo with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera. This is a scene I came across around the corner from Jimmy’s home.
The original photo is shown below:
I used several layers to get the painting effect. One layer had the Flaming Pear Lacquer filter, which I blended using “Normal” and around 70 percent opacity. I overlaid it with a layer that I applied Redfield’s Lattice Composer to, using “Color”. I then added a layer with Redfield’s Plasteroid filter, which added texture strips, but also had transparent strips. Adding the bevel and emboss layer style and reducing the opacity to around 30 percent gave this the diagonal texture you see. After merging all the layers I embossed the image to bring out the detail more. The geese were a shape that I added at the end.
