Jimmy tooks this through a car window as he was driving through Missoula, Montana (USA) on a construction job. The only editing I did was to straighten the picture in Photoshop CS and to use a wonderful Topaz filter, called “DeJPEG” to get rid of the low resolution spots. It took me a year of using this camera to realize that it was set on the lowest resolution setting. I’m not always the brightest person in the family.

This valley was once formed by Glacial Lake Missoula, a huge body of water that was dammed up by a large glacier. When the glacier dam broke, the flooding of this lake carved the Columbia River, which forms the border between Idaho and Missoula. The low hills in the foreground were part of the shoreline.

This is the industrial side of town, but it was transformed into something beautiful by the rainbow.

Photo taken in summer of 2010 by James Emerson, with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera.
