Artist's Description

11/3/10 – SOLD a card of this!

Made in UltraFractal 5. Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is celebrated in Mexico and parts of the United States and Canada. The holiday occurs on November 1st and 2nd in connection with All Saint’s Day. People gather together to honor their loved ones who have died. You will probably have to look at this in FULL VIEW to see the skull.

wikipedia writes, "Traditions include building private altars honoring the deceased, using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts.

Scholars trace the origins of the modern holiday to indigenous observances dating back thousands of years, and to an Aztec festival dedicated to a goddess called Mictecacihuatl."
