What Have I Done?-

If you cannot take the time,
And put forth the devotion
To know the entire beauties,
That reside within the epitome
Of your very own spirit,
How can you truly share
All of yourself with another person?

If you will never attempt to seek out
The one person on this Earth,
That you can truly love with all of your being,
And who will reciprocate your every emotion
To the same degrees of care and passion,
Can you truly reach beyond complacent moments;
Do you find days of pure rapture,
While being unaware of True Loves’ meaning?

Will you smile at your weary self,
When you are withered by time,
Left alone, only to recall all of the memories
That fill your very heart to the brim,
If theses memories only reflect
Relentless efforts made in vain,
To secure illusions of grandeur
And unattainable forms of happiness?

When you are confronted before Death,
When you are enveloped with radiant light,
Will you happily relinquish your soul,
Or will you come to the understanding,
Of the meaning of all of your feeling,
Utterly thinking to yourself,
What Have I Done?

Artist's Description

A poetic piece with introspective questions that now I always consider, and only hope that others can appreciate for the harsh reality, yet considerable worth which they present.
