This is a study of the figure drawn with charcoal and then painted in with acrylics on a heavily textured, gessoed canvas board. It was completed in about a forty-five minute session, with subtle coloration and fluid brush strokes to convey the shadows and highlights that were cast over the human form. The simplified shapes and relationship of angles within the figure, and the impressionistic lighting are some of the features that I really enjoy the most about this piece. The dimensions are 15in. X 11in. It was produced in 2008.
