Artist's Description

The following was created upon an old medicine cabinet/mirror. There are many layers to it. I used a variety of mediums to evoke many effects that I think enhanced the overall look and feel of the work. Acrylic paints drip and fill certain areas. A select amount of spray paint helped to capture positive shapes and simultaneously created negative ones. There are other glass layers added, and the clear plastic globe (at the top) adds a nice illusive effect that represents me reaching out for clarity. There is a dancing figure that is echoed in threes across the lower portion of the piece, which is representative to differing moments in time/space: The left is solid (the unchangeable past); the middle is infinite space (the unknown future); and the right is reflective mirror (conveying the present moment). It was produced in 2005.
