I took this photo while traveling along the Calder Highway near Gap Hill in Victoria. I have never really seen a rainbow this close before, it almost ends on the highway itself. This was a quick shot so camera was on ‘Portrait’ mode. I took three frames and this was the one that worked.
I used Photoshop to crop the image slightly and to increase the contrast. Nothing was added or removed, the mark on the left side is water on the windscreen and you can just see the wiper blade at the bottom of the image. Images like this one for me are about the composition, quality of light and an attempt to make the invisible visible-to somehow photograph the ‘soul’ of a place or object.
