Washington State Route 129 is 43 miles long and runs from Clarkston, WA to the Oregon/Washington border. At about 29 miles south of Clarkston near Field Springs State Park, Washington SR 129 begins a gradual descent into the Grande Ronde River Valley, a tributary of the Snake River. The pace, steepness and curves of the decent increases dramatically as the highway enters Rattlesnake Grade, and promises an exciting drive to the river below. This photograph was taken near Milepost 9 and is an excellent example of what to expect if you take the drive.
