Take a walk in your local wilderness

Being the outdoors kind of type, I happily accepted the task of taking on a new article series for the local news website I write for, windsoriteDOTca, which entails me going out to a variety of parks in the city, and snapping photos to display. The Summer in the CIty series is really to help people in Windsor know what’s around them and what they can enjoy while this awesome summer weather is in.…

It had been some time, however, since I took a book hike in any of my local parks, so with camera, bug spray, and two bottles of water in tow, I set out for Ojibway Park. Ojibway Park is the main centre for a complex of five different protected prairie and savannah lands located between Windsor and Lasalle, Ontario, Canada. Numerous species, both common and endangered, can be found here with

Help me win a laptop!

Hey Folks!

So I’m trying to win me a laptop, and all I need is two quick clicks from you. One on the link in this sentence, and one on the 10 button near the top of the page for my photo Pink Mimosa. Any help would be much appreciated! The resolution on the contest site seemes to have been dropped after uploading on the contest site, but you can view the image in my portfolio here

For any Canadian photographers on here, LENZR might be a site of interest for you. It’s a Canadian photography contest page, with new contests regularly sponsored by various businesses with a variety of themes. It’s worth a look if you’re on the scout for some contests to enter, or reasons to stiimulate your mind and some photo taking.

Hope all is well with everyone,

Mini Vacation

Well folks, I’ll be gone for the weekend in an attempt to grain some R&R with my better half. It will involve a lot of beach time, some camping, a bed and breakfast, and a lot of doing nothing! I hope to get some shooting time in while I’m gone as well, but I can’t make any promises!

Regardless, I’ll see you come next week!

International Target Fireworks Coverage

I live in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, right on the border of Detroit, Michigan, USA.

Every year on the first Monday of summer, hundreds of thousands of people gather on both sides of the Detroit River to watch what has been billed as the biggest fireworks display in the world, the International Target Fireworks. Formerly the Freedom Festival Fireworks until the Freedon Festival company declaired bankruptcy, the display entered it’s 53rd consecutive year this year. It’s something I’ve grown up with, have always known to be, and is never disappointing.

The streets in Downtown Windsor’s core are closed to vehicle traffic at 6:00 PM on the day of the display, and all roads are opened up to pedestrian traffic and use. Lawn chair after lawn chair and blankets aplenty are unfolded, some people

A walk through a graveyard.

I’ve always found graveyards to be interesting, though admittedly just yesterday – for the purpose of taking photos – was the first time I’ve ever gone to one outside of a funeral. There’s just something about them that I find so captivating. In a way, they are a moment almost frozen in time. Almost. For the average person, it is our last stand. Many of us may end up having children, and even grandchildren, but once they have kids, and their kids have kids, and ours have gone in their own time, who will remember us? Who will know or speak our name?

Most would find walking in a graveyard at two in the morning an eerie experience, but I found it to be more of a humbling and sad one. Approaching things at first with an artist’s eye, all I wanted was to get shots of the aged headstones and e

A milestone on here for me

I would just like to say thank you to whoever scooped up the first printing of my new Tik Tok tshirt the other day just hours after I posted it. After checking out my stats this evening, I came to notice that that sale was my one hundredth sale here on Red Bubble. I know it my not be much, but for myself and all of my spotted activity over the years, it seems like quite an accomplishment! So thank you to all who have helped me reach this point thus far!

Most sincerely,

Many thanks!

After being on somewhat of a hiatus for quite some time, I’m back in action here on the Bubble, and first and foremost, I need to thank those who have in my absense made the purchases they have, and even though who have over the past week and today. Your support is very much appreciated! And you will all be seeing more of me in the next little while =)

New Camera!

I’ve happy to announce that I am now the proud owner of my first DSLR camera =)

Canon EOS Rebel T1i, to be specific.

Expect more from me in the weeks to come!!

Thank You!

I know none of my shirts are in the Buy Gifts section, so when I end up selling five in the last week, especially considering my current activity on the Bubble, I need to send a huge thanks out there to everyone who’s recently made a purchase! Your financial support in hard financial times is much appreciated, and you even got a shirt out of the deal!

Day Five

Bonsoir, mes amis!!…

Well, at the moment, I am very happy to say that not only did I arrive safe qand sound, but I am currently typing from an internet cafè in Nimes, France. The trip so far has been simply fantastic!! I’m averaging about one hundred and twenty photos a day at the moment; averaging out the number i’ve taken so far, but I’m sure thats bound to increase in time. I don’t have time to upload any photos at the moment, but needless to say it has been quite a productive trip thus far. Today we visited the Ponte du Guard (ou Garde… je ne sais pas) which is a giant Roman aquaduct just outside of Nimes, and I must say it was QUITE amazing, especially the swim in the river it crosses over.

Being in a French cafè, I’m also on a Fre,ch keyboard; which is taking forever, but I will
