Artist's Description

A mile or so from the bustle of Weston Super Mare (Somerset, UK), lies the sleepy village of Uphill. Its well named, for there is quite a walk uphill to the church and a small tower marked on the map as a windmill, from which this view comes. This image was painted showing a receding tide revealing the mudflats that make Weston a curious place for a seaside resort – as the sea is inaccessible!

The hill jutting into the sea is Brean Down – and its well worth a walk.

Painted on board measuring 24 inches x 12 inches
