Artist's Description

On my walks I often come across groups of sheep. Most of the time they scurry off, sometimes they ignore me, and other times they hold their ground, challenging me to pass, only to back off at the last moment. Once I was even attacked by a bunch of hungry sheep prodding me with their snouts and trying to chew the map I was attempting to read.
This picture is one of the stand their ground group, witnessed somewhere – I’ve long since forgotten where – in Britain’s countryside. Its painted in oil on board measuring 16 inches wide by 12 inches high.
Original sold July 2017.
