Artist's Description

I was walking the West Cornish coast path, past the iconic ruins of the engine houses from the tin mining era. It was a day when an Atlantic swell brought the biggest waves anyone can remember, crashing to the shore with a thunder so loud it could be heard two miles inland at St Just. Nearby I could see the lighthouse at Pendeen Watchand sat watching the waves coming ashore. This oil painting on board (12×10 inches) depicts what I saw. Its a shame I have no way of depicting the thunderous sound or the shuddering rocks.
