The “Crystalline Squares” series was originally designed to be an element in my abandoned “Moon Cities” series*. The squares and the spaces between them were supposed to suggest city blocks, buildings, and streets. In the process of getting them ready for this, I noticed that they were really quite beautiful in their own right. While originally generated in ArtMatic, they ended up being heavily adjusted in Photoshop. I toyed with the idea of using them as my Winter series, but squares just aren’t quite wintery enough…
