Featured in an article on Redbubble

I follow a number of blogs via RSS and was pleasantly surprised to find that one of them had published an article on selling Redbubble. I’d done an interview with them a little while ago and had forgotten about the article until now.
I’m stoked that they published it and stoked that RB can get a bit more marketing and traffic sent its way
If you’d like to have a read, feel free http://blogs.photopreneur.com/the-secret-of-sel... and I’d love it if you share it as widely as possible not only for me but simply for the fact that it sends interested traffic to RB and that can only be a good thing for everyone here…

Cheers

Redbubble Management....SEO is important!!!

For those that the links don’t work for please search for the phrases “buy art”, “Buy Fine Art” and “Buy fine art Photography” the results for RB should be on pages 9, 22 and 8 respectively.(I couldn’t get the problem to repeat)
For the results not to be skewed you need to be logged out from any google product that requires you to login

Link to a Google search for Buy Art Note the page its on

Link to a Google search for Buy Fine Art first mention of Redbubble for the search “Buy Fine Art” is not even the landing page but a specific artists work (I.e. they did a better job of ranking well than Redbubble.com did)

And again a specific artist ranks higher then the whole website for the search “Buy fine art Photography” Link to a Google search for Buy Fine Art Photography

I could go on with thi

Interesting note about the new Explore

It seems that the order of most popular results when looking at someones profile hasn’t changed from what I posted here

But something I did notice a few moments ago is how it displays the Top Sellers list
It ranks it in order of $$ amount sold I.e if an artwork (Artwork A) has sold a single framed print for $190 and another artwork (Artwork B) has sold 50 cards for a total of $150 then artwork A would be ranked higher even though it has only been bought once

Right now I don’t have enough data to figure out if this is based on total cost of items sold or if it is down to profit made on each item I.e. whether %mark up is going to make a difference

I also haven’t really thought about how this might affect you or your art business yet but rest assured I will and I’ll try to post my thoughts wh

Editing on RB is Very frustrating

So I’ve been reviewing my work on Redbubble recently, as part of an effort to keep it fresh and weed out works that aren’t getting good responses, and I’ve noticed several annoyances…

First and biggest is that when you delete a work it dumps you back on the first page of your art rather than putting you back on the page you were on I.e. with 9 pages of artworks I’m going through them page by page and each time I have to find where I was up to rather than just keep going from where I was. Wastes my time a bit and is annoying.

Next is that there is still no bulk edit (Which I’ve written about previously) again a little annoying and a time waster as now I have to go through each and every one of my artworks (currently 160ish but other people certainly have more) to change things like the mar

How does the search algorithm work?? Ideas!

By the way I know this is long and in-depth but I think its worth it
Some months ago while working on marketing for my images here on RB I though about the fact that RB say they advertise to bring people to the site but that it is up to us to bring the buyers to our page. It occurred to me that in searching for a particular subject, for instance “Droplets”, that buyers are only going to go through a certain number of pages of search results before they either decide on something or move on to some other search.
I asked a number of people to have a look at a RB search and tell me how many pages they would be willing to go through before moving on.. The results ranged from 5-10 pages. What this says to me is that in any given search your art works need to be ranking in the top 10 pages, tha…
