Artist's Description

One of the many temple ruins in the Angkor area, The Bayon is known for its hundreds of massive stone faces which are carved on the towers of the temple buildings. It’s not actually known who the faces are meant to represent though, with scholars arguing whether it is the king at the time or the bodhisttava of compassion.

We were in Angkor for 3 days and even though they were packed full of temples we came back to this spot at least 3 times to snap “just one more photo”.
