This image was inspired by the poem by Gelett Burgess — The Purple Cow:
The Purple Cow
The Purple Cow’s Projected Feast:
Reflections on a Mythic Beast,
Who’s Quite Remarkable, at Least.
I NEVER saw a Purple Cow;
I never hope to See One;
But I can Tell you, Anyhow,
I’d rather See than Be One.
— Gelett Burgess
The image itself was created in Bryce 6.1, with minimal post-processing only to clarify and sharpen, and for the digital signature.
I chose to make my little beauty a bit faceted to resemble a cut amethyst or a piece of collectable Swarovzki crystal. She is posing in front of three emerald cacti, on a highly reflective “desert floor”, just taking in the sunset.
