Cult band in the alternative scene of the 1990's, *Failure* never achieved the commercial success that bands with not so distant sound achieved, pals and colleagues *Stone Temple Pilots* being the best example. It was years later that the band started to received a lot of praise, mainly from other bands. When the band reunion was a thing, artists from bands like *Cave-In*, Faith No More, Speedy Ortiz or the very Stone Temple Pilots, claimed to be enthusiastic about the band's music and the influence they had had on their own. Also, *A Perfect Circle* with their delicate cover of grunge power-ballad "The Nurse Who Loved Me" that they included in their second album Thirteenth Step helped Failure to be more familiar among new generations of alt-rock fandom.
