Wayward Son a poem by RestLeSsD
Contemplation now
is his daily exercise
Wondering where his life was spent
Seeing out of hooded eyes.
Did he do enough
In his time upon this earth
To leave a small impression
Of what his life was worth?
As the twilight of his days
Darkens into the night
Will he be remembered
As one who brought some light?
Or will he be forgotten
As just another one,
Who was born and then who died?
Just another wayward son.

Kansas ~ Carry On Wayward Son
Dedicated to the model, my friend, Bill. . . he inspired this piece.
There is a secret society of aging adults that are just on the cusp of being forgotten. Not as mobile as they once were they may not get out much. Their adult children have lives of their own so are not often seen. A spouse may have already passed and the individual is left alone… alone to ponder what more there might be left in this life. . . something to think upon. . .
2nd portrait with Bill as my model.

Photo of an old friend. Bill was kind enough to allow me to shoot candid photographs of him with the intention of creating a piece of art. Thank you…. He liked it well enough to purchase a set of 6 cards.
My original photo shot with a Kodak EZS Z915. Edited in PSCS2 using the DRAGAN Effect & DAP blending layers. All overlay images are my own photos.

A lovely portrait. I don’t know your friend, but I get a sense of a thinker and deep person.
