Artist's Description

Still just playing with my plastic lens. It’s the slowest lens I’ve ever used; except in bright sunlight, it is not hand hold-able. I haven’t tried it with strobes yet, but will no doubt get drunk and try it.

It is not possible to focus the damn thing; I tend to like a little more control over what is blurred and what is not, but it is not without it’s charms. And it’s dirt cheap.

It’s sort of like playing with an 1890 Kodak where you pulled the lens cap off to get your exposure. Except it’s not as sharp.

E510, God only knows what aperture, ISO 200, IS on, which with this lens is pretty much worthless and some massage in ’Shop. Basically just cropping. It was also shot at about noon WITH hot lights. This is just a slow lens and almost must be on a tripod except in the middle of the day outside. Your choices are limited to shutter speed and frustration. Well, composition too.

One thing I can say . . . it’s dirt cheap. I got a normal lens, a telephoto, a macro and a fisheye for about 80 bucks. I think it won’t end up being for me, but it’s good to keep playing with things.

Your mileage may vary.
