Another blotch of paint on the wall. Somehow, I’d like to combine these three different paths I’m pursuing; stylistically, thematically and philosophically.
Probably unlikely. “What is life, but the dance?” Paraphrased from Nikos Kazantakis’s “Zorba the Greek”
It is a dance, which doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt, often enough, but what you gonna do? Given that, I still keep saying: what is on people’s minds when they do this? Are they making art, or am I? Are they purer than me for making it in isolation?
Does it matter?
Olympus E510, I.S. on, 40-150mm lens. Run through Tiffen DFX and Genuine Fractals. I’m loading CS5 later today and imagine it will wreck/open up my life just like Vs.4 did, way back in pre-history. Fairly minor manipulation in Studio 2; the contrast was upped. Really not much in Shop, just a little saturation turned up. Halo effect in Tiffen. Once again cranked way down. The image was strong on its own, so I didn’t have to play too much, though I’m not against that.
Whatever gets it there . . .
