Artist's Description

Thanks to the buyer who purchased a large photographic print of this image on 11.22.11. Appreciative.

German political philosopher, Hannah Arendt, has greatly influenced my thinking. Her work, The Human Condition and The Life of the Mind are two favorites. She wrote, "“No cause is left but the most ancient of all, the one, in fact, that from the beginning of our history has determined the very existence of politics, the cause of freedom versus tyranny.”

Arendt fled Europe with the rise of the Nazis, eventually settling in New York City.
