All the shots were captured using a Canon 450D and then edited in Photoshop Elements 7 where filters and a custom texture was added to complete the image. I used the Cookie Cutter tool to give a jagged edge to the image outline.

The tones and editing on this one is spectacular! Love the touch of the frame as if the bird is about to fly right through it – beautiful work!
I thought about it and it would look better with a different scene on the left – so it’s flying into a different place – so I might try that out. Thanks for your very nice feedback Maxy !
Very nice James.
Thank you Lindsay ! It was an interesting challenge to experiment with.
Awesome work James ~ one of your best!!1 love the biard flying into the frame!
Thanks for your nice comment Cheryl ! The bird was flying out of the frame until I decided to Flip it over like this. That seagull flew straight in front of me the other weekend so I got stuck into capturing it.
Stunning work James – this is jut a glorious painting effect – truly fine art.
Thanks for your encouraging comment ! I’m happy with it, but I know there are areas that can be improved with practice.
Thanks very much ! Originally I had a different landscape shot as the base but it evolved into this.
Great imagery James, the composition works really well. Congratulations!!!
Thank you Anna ! It had been about a year since I photographed that spot so I went back to frame up some new perspectives and I took all those dog shots at the start of the shoot.
Fantastic work Reflector
Thanks Jacqui ! This is an iconic local land mark.
We used to have thunderstorms every afternon on the east coast. They would pass quickly but I enjoyed them. Beautiufl work. xo
Thanks Lori ! :))x This was one of a dozen shots I tried near the end of that session [ learning to take HDR shots ] when I photographed all those dogs. It looked like it would rain, but luckily it didn’t and I learned a bit.
Wonderful piece James, love all the various elements and textures :)
Thanks for your feedback Trish ! :)) Sometimes I get so far through an edit and "stall ", when I could have gone that little bit further with it.
Thanks for having a look ! :)
