Artist's Description

pencil and ink drawing on 9″×11″ sketchbook paper
Sometimes I’m not sure why an image pops into my head…
Shopping always makes me befuddled. When I’m in a brightly lit grocery store for a long time I start becoming numb and confused. Decisions become harder the longer I’m in a store and I’m more likely to think “What the heck!” and just grab anything. I dont think this is an accident. There is a science to stocking shelves and placing those “Limited Time Offers” in your path. The fact that you have to travel to the back of the store to get bread and to the other side of the store to get milk is no accident. The longer you are in the store and the more aisles you have to go up and down the more purchases you are likely to make. Have you every wondered why they keep redesigning the layout of the store? No accident there either. Like the mighty hunter, if you become expert at winding your way through the store to capture your “game” in the least amount of time you are less likely to spend more time (more cash) in the store. So, every few months the store will redesign the layout “for your shopping convenience!” And heaven help the poor soul who tries to shop without a list!

Cthulu and the yawning void are to be found amoungst the shelves of the supermarket! Beware!
