Artist's Description

pencil drawing on 9″×11″ sketchbook paper coloured on computer The Moon (XVIII) is the eighteenth trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks. There are two large, foreboding pillars or tombstones on the card with a wolf and a domesticated dog underneath a moon that is shedding teardrops/dew that creates a fertile ground for the creative arts (painting, writing, or dancing). The dog and wolf are the fears of the natural mind in the presence of that place of exit, when there is only reflected light to guide it. The association this card bears with imagery and fantasy can put one in touch with visions and insight, creativity and psychic powers. In Mythic Tarot decks, the moon is depicted by Artemis , Selene or Hecate
