Lost Love in Regards to Lost Hope

Lost love can never be regained.
It dispenses pain on those involved,
And even those not suffer in its presence.
It takes away the happiness of a simple being.
A blooming flower has now the same significance as
A withering rose; a falling sun; a rotting corpse.
No longer do acquaintances acquaint,
No longer do associates associate.
Everything loses meaning and significance,
Importance and value,
Worth and impact.
Yet this can be cured,
Albeit after an immense time of longing;
Want, and need.
Eventually, we learn, there is nothing we can do.
It’s happened; it’s done.
Lost love will always have a part in our lives;
Play a role in coming years and experiences.
But it will lessen in time; never to diminish, but to leave us be.
Lost love can never be regained, but it will disappear.
Lost hope, however, sears a burning scar
That lasts forever.
