Artist's Description

This painting is a tribute to two of Oz’ most famous explorers, Bourke and Wills who lost their lives during their exploration of Australia’s Outback. Coopers Creek is their dying place – they ran out of supplies and finally perished – as it turns out, fairly close to supplies that had been left for them buried in the ground under a tree.. with the word DIG carved into it. This year is the year we recall this expedition.. 100 years after the fact.
