Knowlton Church

Number of views as of 5th March 2017 = 650.

The ruins of Knowlton Church, 2 miles south of Cranborne in Dorset are surrounded by late Neolithic earthworks, believed to have been constructed around 2500 B.C.

The Church itself is in the Norman style and was built between the 12th and 14th centuries A.D.

The village of Knowlton was once a thriving community, but the population was wiped out in 1485 by the spread of ‘Black Death’ or ‘Bubonic Plague’.

Some people even say that the Church is haunted!

Date: 9th April 2008.
