Artist's Description

Lower Bindon, Dorset, England

Number of views as of 22nd April 2018 = 620.

The southern slopes of Bindon Hill, near Lulworth.

Bindon Hill is an extensive Iron Age earthwork enclosing an area of approximately 110 hectares. There is no evidence of settlement in the interior, which would suggest it was primarily an enclosed pasture for domesticated animals, rather than a strategic tribal hill fort.

This shot looks eastwards across Mupe Bay towards Worbarrow Tout and Gad Cliff (top left). Beyond lie Kimmeridge and St Aldhelm’s Head.

Date: 27th September 2009.
