Pulpit Rock

Number of views as of 9th February 2016 = 300.

Pulpit Rock is a coastal feature near the southern tip of the Isle of Portland (Dorset, England).

The artificial stack of rock was left in the 1870s after a natural arch was cut away by quarrymen at Portland Bill quarry.

It was intentionally left in place as a quarrying relic.

The rock can be climbed but of course at the climber’s risk.

Date: 10th November 2013.
