Artist's Description

After shooting sunset at lake Wanaka we decided we were going to head to Queenstown for sunrise. After a brief stint of thinking we were lost and a run in with the police (don’t park in the middle on the road in the middle of the night) we pulled up on a siding to sleep for the night. The night shoot has a whole other story but when we woke for sunrise I walked outside the camper not only to find I was in the coldest place ON EARTH but I was also on top of the world. We had managed to pull up on one of the highest sealed roads in NZ.

So about the image…… man it was blowing a Gail and I had all my thermal gear and snow gear on and was still shivering!! Blake had deserted me for the warmth of his sleeping bag. So I could see this patch of flowers down on the hill side. I slowly shivered my way down to them just in time to catch the light in the peaks. I think this is the northern end of the remarkable

The rubbish the groups want to know.
