The damage done is etched forevermore
Upon this woman’s heart, too deep to heal:
A pain profound, too hurtful to ignore.

The day you disappeared I closed the door
To tenderness and trust and sympathy.
The damage done is etched forevermore.

The molten silver flowed from core to core,
Defying space and time, but what remains?
A pain profound, too hurtful to ignore.

Your voice caresses me as you implore,
But all your words, like traitors, fall away:
The damage done is etched forevermore.

Love’s but a tricksy, shrewd, deceitful whore
That flaunts her transitory charms, then leaves
A pain profound, too hurtful to ignore.

Away with words like cherish and adore,
I’ve taken Sorrow as my paramour.
The damage done is etched forevermore:
A pain profound, too hurtful to ignore.
