Weathering Love

A sky full of storm greeted the coming night,
The rising moon hung, drowning, in a soft mist.
I watched as the clouds overtook all the light,
remembering, sharply, the first time we kissed.
Our mouths a storm of desire, such appetite
that blotted all reason; we did not resist.
But that was so long ago and far away,
and dissolved, like the moon, in the light of day.
