Red Bird, aka Yolonda Cevaal, is a contemporary Indigenous artist and disabled U.S. Army Veteran. An enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibwe, she holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee. Her digital art often features humorous, cartoon-style depictions of her culture, using vibrant colors inspired by powwow regalia. She began with beadwork, moccasins, and dreamcatchers, and says, resilience & healing comes from the arts and the ability to let yourself laugh.
