Waiting

Waiting

Twelve monkeys screaming;
A narrative of pain
In a darkly surreal film.
Electric sheep don’t dream of androids
And Philip K is a nightmare away,
And I’m still waiting for you.
Nothing’s ever just black or white
And even shadows
Fade to grey and die in light.
The Devil is a woman
And I want you!
Play Lilith to my Lucifer.
A touch of evil,
The sweet surrender,
The kiss of death and resurrection!
The monkeys are still screaming
And the city is darker.
Am I dead, or dreaming of electric sheep?
Am I in that mansion with many empty rooms?
Lost in a twilight maze,
Aware that some one or something
Is watching with evil intent.
Nothing is real,
And did that tree fall in a forest,
Disturbing a butterfly,
Destroying a planet in a galaxy
Far, far away?
Meanwhile the film of my life is blue
And I’m still waiting for you.
