Artist's Description

Tripod-mounted Pentax K100D, Sigma 28 – 80 mm, Bulb mode:

3.8 seconds;
f/5.6;
ISO 800;
28 – 80 mm focal length;
Taken: 15.01.2010.

I was standing out the front, enjoying the cool night air, and saw a number of cars parked along the street, one of the neighbours was holding a party. I noticed the light reflecting off one of the cars and wondered . . .

Of course, I went and grabbed my camera and set it up for this shot by choosing the f/ stop and ISO. I then set it on bulb mode, focussed it and, while holding the shutter release button open, I pulled the zoom from 80 mm down to 28 mm. I was fairly fortunate to be able to get this shot without any cars coming along the street. This is the best of the shots I took.

I didn’t get what I wanted in relation to the reflection on the car, but I think this one is pretty cool. It was a little too bright so I darkened it using Photoshop’s Levels. I hope you like it.
