Mystery Solved!!!!

My dear friend Sharon Perrett has solved the mystery that I had presented in the form of photographs of the beautiful flower that I had taken while I was in Old Salem. The flower is known as the Snail Flower; Vigna Caracalla. or Corkscrew Flower.
It is of the Legume family (Could explain why some may have thought it was a sweet-pea) having extremely fragrant yellowish or purplish flowers, a segment of which is shaped like a snails shell. This flower was a favorite of Thomas Jefferson and is said to grow easily along a trellis or fence here in N.C. even though it is a somewhat tropical flower. It will bloom from late Spring to Fall! And guess what? I am on a major hunt for seeds or plants to buy!
Thank you Sharon!!!!! XXSUEXX
