Artist's Description

It is almost impossible to convey the immensity of Grand Canyon National Park in words, and so, if it is to be accomplished, it must be done photographically. This view is from Mohave Point on the west rim trail, and looks westward over the tail of the monolith known as “The Alligator” which, below this spot, points towards the river. In the distance, just above the tree branch one can make out Hermit Rapids in the distance.
