GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK,TENNESSEE

PHACILIA-These early spring ephemerals,with their white,deeply fringed flowers,are so densely packed it can look as if a light snow has fallen. The five petals are arranged to produce a cup-shaped flower that fades to purple as it ages.
HABITAT-Moist woods
BLOOMS-March-May

PHLOX-This tall spring plant is topped with a dazzling display of blue flowers. The five notched petals radiate from a very narrow tube.
