Artist's Description

Gilded statues at the Palais de Chaillot look over to the iconic Eiffel tower at the Trocadero, shot at dawn.

The Palais de Chaillot, also named Trocadero, magnificently crowns the Chaillot hill in Paris. It was designed for the 1937 world exhibition, the last Paris colonial exhibition. France had then the second largest colonial empire in the world including large parts of Africa and Asia. The Palais de Chaillot is above all famous for its spectacular view on the Eiffel tower, facing it on the left bank of the Seine river.
